About the Item

Exquisite pair of 19 century French louis XV style ormolu 4 light sconces. Each surmounted with a ribbon, above intricate ormolu foliage and mythical mask, issuing two reeded candelabra arms with dragonfly wings and unique camel heads terminating in a foliate-inspired dish pan and candle holder, over two scrolling gilt bronze arms with a floral and fruiting basket. Meticulous attention was given to the naturalism of the mask. The proportions of the facial features are truly masterful. The dragonfly wings and the camel heads on the arms make these candelabra truly unique. Measures: H 36" x W 20" x D 8".
