Set of Reclaimed Glazed Carter Tiles
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
Group of 21 reclaimed glazed tiles by the makers Carter Tiles displaying ochre and buff stylised Tudor roses. These 3-inch tiles could be used in several ways including a decorative panel or a vibrant splashback for a vintage kitchen. Supplied loose, these tiles are antique and as such have a characterful, timeworn look with scuffs and crazing here and there that only enhances the beauty of their striking pattern. This set also includes some extra tiles with minor flaws. Carter Tiles Carter Tiles was founded in 1873 by Jesse Carter, a builder’s merchant and ironmonger from Surrey, bought James Walker’s brick and tile business on the East Quay at Poole. By the 1880's Carters...

Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture Antonia Head by Vanessa Semaino
Located in Milan, IT
The “Surolù” art works - this is artistic identity chosen by Vanessa Semaino - arise from the artist 's need to represent women’s condition today, particularly in their emotional states that confer their unique identities. These precious ceramic sculptures, entirely handcrafted and decorated, represent female Moor’s heads. They were conceived as an expression of an introspective journey that relates Vanessa’s Sicilian origins and to her professional experience in the fashion stylistic field. The artist introduces, for the first time, the repeated use of sociological themes of current relevance through a visually immediate language, represented in her art works with a contemporary pop aesthetic. In contemporary art, the interpretation of the seven deadly sins offers artists an opportunity to explore the complex nuances of humanity. Antonia is a particularly intriguing and fascinating artwork that embodies the sin of gluttony in the reinterpretation of the seven deadly sins. The woman depicted is a clear homage to Holly, the famous character from the renowned film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” In the artwork, “Antonia,” a woman of great elegance, wears the iconic black dress with long gloves and a beautiful pearl necklace, which strongly allude to the film’s most iconic scene. The artist’s contemporary reinterpretation captures the image evoked by the celebratory reference to the scene from which the film took its name, “breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and returns it to us with an ironic twist that almost conceals the subtle social provocation conveyed by the use of gold chains and bracelets that serve as noodles in the artwork. In fact, Antonia is depicted avidly eating, but always with great elegance, using Japanese...
