Located in Los Angeles, CA

"Zodiac" Fluorescent Clamp-On Table Lamp by Artilite Artilite Netherlands, 1970s A functional and refined piece of Dutch modernist lighting design, this "Zodiac" clamp-on table lamp by Artilite features a white enameled metal shade, adjustable chrome stem, and black clamp base for versatile, space-saving placement. With its clean, industrial lines and utilitarian charm, the lamp reflects the minimalist sensibility of late 20th-century European task lighting. This model operates with a maximum 20W fluorescent bulb, offering diffuse, even illumination ideal for desks, studios, or reading areas. Artilite, an innovative Dutch lighting company, would later merge with Raak in 1999 to form CLA – Centrum voor Lichtarchitectuur, a collective focused on architectural lighting solutions. Their earlier works, such as the Zodiac, are now appreciated for their simplicity, flexibility, and understated elegance. Powerful 18th-Century Bison Portrait – Hand-Coloured Buffon Print

Located in Langweer, NL

Antique Buffalo Engraving, Buffon Hand-Coloured Print Amsterdam 1769 This handsome hand-coloured 18th-century engraving of the buffalo, titled Le Buffle, comes from the rare Dutch edition of Buffon’s celebrated Histoire Naturelle, published in Amsterdam by J.H. Schneider in 1769. Appearing as Plate XXV in Tome XI, the image was drawn by Jacques de Sève, Buffon’s principal illustrator, and engraved by C.J. Fritsch. The plate is one of the most appealing large mammal portraits in the Buffon series, notable for its expressive character, fine engraving, and warm, atmospheric colouring. The buffalo stands in full profile on a grassy bank beneath a soft blue sky. Its muscular body, thick neck, and distinctive curved horns are rendered with precise cross-hatching, highlighting both strength and powerful form. The shaggy hair around the head and chest is drawn with exceptional sensitivity, giving the animal a lively, alert presence. Behind the buffalo, a distant landscape shows classical buildings, rolling hills, and soft vegetation—an elegant composition typical of de Sève, who often placed his subjects in idealised settings to evoke the exotic nature of these animals for 18th-century European audiences. Hand colouring in the Schneider edition is among the finest of all Buffon printings. The warm browns of the buffalo’s coat...

Contemporary Yellow Mirror, Off Round Hue #1 by Sabine Marcelis

By Sabine Marcelis, Brit van Nerven

Located in Copenhagen, DK

In 2013 Sabine Marcelis and Brit van Nerven started collaborating on the project ‘Seeing Glass’ a series of glass objects resulting from an ongoing study into optical effects created with glass as the primary material. Glass specialists allowed the designers to play around and experiment in their factory to investigate new possibilities and through the use of materials, color and layering, unexpected effects are created which play with ones visual perception as well as the surrounding space. The seeing glass project involved different collections one of them being the off round mirrors. The off round mirrors are continually evolving and expanding and has developed into the off round Hue...

Spring cloud is a soft spot for walls or floor. Our memories of nature is what we will build our future habitats out of. This is a spring memory of tactile warmth. Colors of joy and new beginnings. Sold as rug, but can on request come with hanging system. Hand tufted and embroidered wool. The layers of different heights are sculpted to create a lush textured lanscape. The rug has a rich cotton back- Hand tufted and embroidered wool. The layers of different heights are sculpted to create a lush textured lanscape. The rug has a rich cotton back- ing and is finished with a hand applied embroidery stitch. The wool yarns are collected factory leftovers from The Netherlands, India and Nepal. Depend- ing on avaliablitiy of yarns small color variations can appear.   My name is Alfhild Kulper. I am a Swedish artist and designer, aiming to create physical representations of the soft spots in our minds. I graduated from Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London 10 years ago.
