Original Painted Pine Baby Cradle Rocker, Sweden 1850-55
Located in Round Top, TX
This delightful baby cradle was hand-crafted by a loving family in the mid 1800's. Note each of the narrow ends with dates and monograms. The original painted finish with red/orange panels, white flowers and green leaves is also gently appealing where the paint is worn away from years of use revealing the aged pine. The faux wood brown background was the traditional folk art style of the era. This wood cradle has been restored and waxed. It is solid/structurally sound. A new base/bottom has been added. An old alteration is seen along the rockers where it was raised up. Antique cradles...

Signed 24k gold infused Crystal Fish Sculpture by Josef Marcolin, original label
By Marcolin Art Crystal
Located in Warrenton, OR
Signed 24k gold infused Crystal Fish Sculpture by Josef Marcolin, original label. ***NOTE: Our 1stDibs store is closing in May and items will not be available thereafter.*** In addition to the signature on the bottom, the piece still has both of its original labels as well. In Murano glass work, fine gold dust inside the glass is called gold polveri. Perhaps this term was dropped by Marcolin due to the inclusions being more notable gold flecks rather than gold dust. Josef Marcolin (1933-2015), who originallly lived and was trained as a glassblower in Murano, Italy, moved to Sweden with his brother Benito in 1954. They made beautiful blown glass/crystal sculptures such as this one, which are known for their unique blend of Murano and Swedish style. In 1991 they moved back to Italy and continued to create for a short time under the name Sardinia Crystal...
