About the Item

The wide top rail of this splendid storage bench is boldly scalloped and comes to a point in the center. With the narrow bottom rail, it encloses three groups of two flattened balusters separated by wide splats. The integral legs and arms are straight and made of oak. They are scrolled at the armrest, where two more balusters are framed. The wide seat lifts on iron strap hinges to reveal a deep storage well, divided into one large and one small compartment. The seat height is 20.5”. This item has great color, hand-polished to a warm golden glow. The wood has great character with some minor stains and inactive woodworm tracks.
