Erquan Shanmin is the studio name of Li Jiren, who was a stone carver active during the late Qing dynasty and Republic period. Known examples by Li have been seen on the international market recently. In these examples, Li utilises the natural patterns of the dream stones and makes them into marble insets or table screens. He usually titles the marble according to his imagined subjects, and signs either with his studio name or actual name. Born in Wuxi, Li was known to have either worked or lived in Shanghai.
