Walnut Catalan Sofa
About the Item
A original walnut framed Catalan basket sofa.
The scrolling backrest and arms bear intricately hand-carved symmetrical swirling lines, with sunshine motifs to the frame. Standing on seven tapering legs.
The sofa has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid walnut pegged frame and horse hair cushioning. The original cushioning on the backrest and sides has been complemented with extra padding for comfort. A new padded squab cushion has been made for the seat to the exact dimensions of the original. Finished in a deep blue navy linen.
In a wonderful state of preservation, rich in colour and patination.
