C. 1900 Monumental Harley-Davidson W.C. Heller & Co. Wall Unit
A fantastic, monumental oak wood wall unit ordered by Bradburn Bros. for an early Harley-Davidson dealership in Canandaigua, N.Y., c. 1900, for use in storing parts for repair of motorcycles and bicycles.
This impressive cabinet was made by well-respected cabinet-maker W.C. Heller & Company, specialists in apothecary, hardware, and industrial cabinets such as this. The drawers are stamped with W.C. Heller & Co's information to the sheet metal drawer sides.
Referenced in the May 1, 1909 edition of "Motorcycle Illustrated," Louis F. Bradburn "has secured the Harley-Davidson agency for the place and surrounding territory." Bradburn is credited as one of the earliest dealers of Harley-Davidsons, with ample ads featured in antique copies of "The Daily Messenger" from Canandaigua, NY through the 1920's. This antique wall cabinet unit is stamped with the information for the Bradburn Bros. on the back.
