A stunning large antique Tuscan two-door cabinet (buffet - credenza) with Renaissance style polychromed decoration. circa 1850
Hand-crafted in the Provincial Tuscany region of central Italy in the mid-19th century, old solid wood construction, most likely pine, in the original paint finish, Neoclassical taste, having a rectangular top over conforming two door cupboard, opening to spacious interior fitted with one shelf, rising on tapering squared legs with ring-and-spike feet.
The doors and sides feature inset panels with beautiful medieval Florence hand painted whimsical flags capped by grotesque scrolling foliate embellishments.
