Imposing eagle console after a model by William Kent, 1685-1748.
A console from the Regency period, approximately. Monumental fully moulded hand-carved eagles from solid Beech. Partial black hand-painted and gilded. Standing on a slab. Frieze of acanthus-leaf fixtures. The fixtures are prominent and from exceptionally superior quality. The brass work from contrepartie consists of stacked leaf work. Beautiful patination with Schell lacquer hand polishing. This particularly stylish, grand interior décor piece, embodies the peak of the representative will!
