About the Item

A striking desk or console table in the same vein as the design for which Bohlin is perhaps best known, his controversial Concrete Chair which took functionalism to an aesthetic extreme. The form is stripped down to its essentials, and a dark humor emerges that is characteristic of Bohlin’s early work. The simplicity of the design lends it to multiple uses--writing table, console, hall table--and allows it to live in almost any interior style. A classic brutalist gesture.
