The piece is truly a marvel of nature and human craftsmanship. The high-gloss lacquer finish accentuates the beauty of the wood. Hungarian furniture makers have been making fine veneered furniture since the Biedermeier era in the early 19th Century. Biedermeier furniture required high-tech (for the time) cutting tools and new application techniques.
