Contemporary Natural Plaster "Column" Seat/Side Table 40cm by Isabelle Beaumont
Located in Ranst, BE
Contemporary Belgian design, handmade natural plaster table with a textured and earthy character. Indoor use (price outdoor +10%) Latin adjective “columna” /koˈlum. na/: column, pillar The Column seat/side table is handcrafted with multiple layers Mortex®. Mortex is a premium natural plaster that has proven its quality in construction purposes for years. It is used for bathrooms, floors, stairs, swimming pools, etc. In terms of composition, it is similar to products like Betoncire or Venetian plaster, but Mortex does not contain epoxy or polyurethane resins and it is waterproof by nature. The plaster is applied using the “a fresco” method, which means the previous layer has not yet fully hardened before the next one is applied. This technique allows all layers to bond together and obtain the highest quality result. The result of this handcrafted process is a textured piece of art with a human touch. *The irregularities, imperfections and color shades that arise after the application of the plaster leaves the signature of the craftsman. This makes each piece unique. The altruistic & humble character of our pieces ensures that they can be used in many different styles, such as contemporary, wabi sabi, japandi, minimalism, brutalism, industrialism, etc. Atelier BB was founded in 2022 by William Baetens and Isabelle Beaumont. The couple designs, develops and produces their pieces in Antwerp, Belgium, where they both grew up. Atelier BB’s designs are distinguished by their simplicity, quality and attention to detail. By using only sustainable materials, they develop pieces that will stand the test of time. Isabelle Beaumont grew up in a family of artists and started her creative adventure very young. From childhood she attended after-school art academy and in high school she logically chose K.S.O. (Art Secondary Education). Isabelle left secondary school with a diploma in Architectural Design, followed by a Master's degree in Interior Architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, supplemented by electives in furniture design and ecological design. *Colour pictures: BM2027 Sakura Light...

Grey Side Table by Donatas Zukauskas
Located in Geneve, CH
Grey Side Table by Kasanai Dimensions: D 35 x W 30 x H 59 cm. Materials: Concrete, wood, recycled paper. 8 kg. The fusion of sturdiness and elegance, along with the blend of archaism and modernity. More than just a surface for placing objects, these tables are functional pieces of art that effortlessly become focal points within any room. Crafted with an eco-friendly mixture of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint, this table undergoes meticulous experimentation to achieve a material closely resembling wood in its properties. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability, setting it apart as a unique and sustainable piece. One remarkable attribute of this material is its slight elasticity. Unlike rigid materials that may be prone to splitting or crumbling under pressure, this table material exhibits a flexible nature, providing a level of resilience that enhances its longevity. Mottled Side Table by Kasanai Dimensions: D 46 x H 61 cm. Materials: Concrete, recycled cardboard, glue, paint. 6 kg. The fusion of sturdiness and elegance, along with the blend of archaism and modernity. More than just a surface for placing objects, these tables are functional pieces of art that effortlessly become focal points within any room. Cardboard as the main component may come as a surprise, as paper is generally perceived as delicate. However, through careful experimentation and integration of other materials: cement, glue, paint, the resulting mixture acquires the desired properties of wood. The material acquires a natural texture and strength, ensuring its durability and longevity. The resulting material not only imitates the strength of wood, but also has a natural texture reminiscent of its organic counterpart. This texture adds a tactile dimension to the tables and provides a sensory experience that combines visual appeal with pleasant touch. Donatas Žukauskas...

Sculptural Side Table by Donatas Zukauskas
Located in Geneve, CH
Sculptural Side Table by Kasanai Dimensions: D 45 x H 54 cm. Materials: Oak, cement, recycled paper, glue, paint. 6 kg. The visual inspiration for the side table is a combination of natural wood and concrete. These two opposite materials combined, create a unique character of the product that has the coldness of concrete and the coziness of wood. The main goal of the project was to create not only a piece of furniture, but also a sculptural and elegant detail of the interior. The tabletop is made of natural oak, and the base of the table, resembling concrete in appearance, is made by pouring solid mass. The set task was technologically challenging - it was necessary to fuse wet mass and moisture-sensitive wood. The entire structure of the table is manufactured at the same time, so that the two materials join together smoothly and precisely to avoid any gaps. After the product dries, it is scrubbed, and the tabletop is oiled. The black concrete-like material is the result of various experiments. It is a mixture of several components: an eco-friendly of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint. Dried it becomes as strong as wood, it resembles concrete but is slightly elastic, so it does not split or crumble. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability, setting it apart as a unique and sustainable piece Donatas Žukauskas...

Abecedario Collection - letter "H" Side Table in Concrete Mou Cement Color
Located in Rome, Lazio
Coffee Table H is the latest addition to the Abecedario Collection presented on the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2023. A new grapheme that marks the evolution of this line and allows Forma&Cemento to continue with the drafting of a real concrete alphabet. Each coffee table is made through the extrusion of a two-dimensional shape into which the concrete is poured. Each unique and recognizable "sign" materializes in a piece of furniture full of meaning. Forma&Cemento products are handcrafted in high performance cement mortar! Our production process is completely artisanal and for this reason each piece is unique and no two are alike. To preserve the beauty of our concrete and highlight its peculiar characteristics, we use colored pigments that are poured directly into the cement mix. Any imperfections on the surface such as color variations, porosity, fine cracks and granulations of different colors are characteristics of the material and of the craftsmanship, for this reason they are not to be considered defects.
