About the Item

Original US trade advertisement for Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou's 1927 science fiction masterpiece. Channing Pollock, an American playwright and critic for The Washington Post was appointed to help make the film attractive to an American audience, as they were somewhat reluctant to release the film owing to its original length and communist overtones. This US trade advertisement was designed to give an amusing and fun slant on the film, with its use of colour and enticing taglines. This piece is Linen-backed and conservation framed with UV plexiglass in an Obeche wood frame with card mount the size given is before framing the framed size is 18 x 154 in. (45.7 x 38.1 cm).
