He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges and held grateful memories of his beloved master, Van Hove Edmond. In 1895, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels where he won numerous prizes. His style is neo-impressionist. He is a member of the National Association of Painters and Sculptors of Belgium. In 1918, he became a professor at the Academy of Bruges. He held this position until 1925.
