About the Item

Striking and sculptural floor lamp produced by Taidetakomo Hakkarainen in Finland during the 1930s. This piece beautifully reflects the romantic yet restrained character of early Finnish modernism, combining handcrafted wrought iron with a warm, natural rattan shade. The forged iron frame features elegant scroll detailing at the upper section and a beautifully shaped four-foot base with subtle hand-hammered character. The dark, time-earned patina enhances the artisanal quality of the metalwork and highlights the craftsmanship typical of Taidetakomo Hakkarainen. The wide, conical rattan shade introduces softness and warmth to the design. When lit, the woven structure creates a captivating play of light and shadow, projecting an atmospheric, organic pattern onto surrounding walls — a striking sculptural lighting effect that transforms the space.
