This 7" beaded stretch bracelet will fit small to medium hands and wrists and is composed of 28 hand-carved and hand-polished natural and untreated jadeite jade beads from Guatemala.
The beads are an almost aquamarine bluish-green, and alternate between 8mm rondelle-shaped beads and round oness. All of the beads are highly translucent; almost watery. It's a tricky color to capture accurately in the studio, so I've included images taken with my phone outside in natural light and inside near a window.
Seven 2.5mm wide handmade sterling silver beads are stationed along the bracelet and an 8.5mm cylindrical bead serves as a focal point. This bracelet is highly translucent and luminous. The pictures describe the tones better than I can. Jadeite has a unique crystal structure that causes it to process light in a completely unique way, with the result being luxurious luminosity, even in the dimmest light.
This is no flimsy stretch bracelet like others you've come across. You'll appreciate the quality of this piece the moment you take it out of the box. It's a step (or three) up from stretch bracelets you've seen elsewhere. I use two strength-proven elastic cords, not just one. This is a durable bracelet you can wear and enjoy, without having to worry about. It possesses the authority of quality and rarity, so you could wear it alone. Remember: this is a bracelet composed of one of the rarest gemstones on earth. But it also looks great along with several other bracelets. I like to wear four at a time.
Luxurious and so unique, this could become your signature bracelet if you have a medium-sized wrist.
About Jadeite from Guatemala:
The vast majority of jadeite comes from one location: Burma (Myanmar). Jadeite forms under highly specific geological conditions that exist in only seven or eight locations on the planet and Guatemala has these conditions. The ancient Mayan civilization knew jade well and used it for jewelry, masks and more. But like the ancient cities themselves, the jungles consumed the jade mines...
