22 Karat Yellow Gold Diamond Dangle Earring with Blue and Pink Enamel Work Handcrafted
This incredulous Mughal era hand-made polki diamond and blue enamel long earring is remarkable. The bottom half of the earring is an overall pear shape formed with the solitaire perfect pear shape polki diamond enclosed in bordered bezel gold setting and surrounded with petals formed by shaded blue enamel work on top of solid gold.
The top part of the earring is hexagonally shaped with an emerald cut solitaire polki diamond in bezel gold setting and surrounded with petals formed the same way as the bottom by shaded blue enamel work on top of solid gold. This kind of Meena/enamel form of the blue petals is also called “Ek Rang Khula Meena,” which is the most ornate and complex work by the engraver. The top and bottom parts are adjoined with a complete round loop for more movement of the bottom half when worn.
The earring sides are covered with full green enamel work with the back equally profound with enameling in pink meena, forming the floral and leaf engraving through the exposed outlines with the white enamel on top of the gold.
