These vintage Matl earrings capture the richly ornamented silverwork and gemstone combinations characteristic of the later evolution of the Matilde Poulat workshop. Each earring features a deeply colored pyramid-cut amethyst framed by natural turquoise cabochons, all set within the signature Matl scrollwork and articulated dangles.
The hand-engraved marks matl, Mexico 925, and M. Regis 142073, together with the MS-12 stamped hallmark on the reverse, confirm mid-1970s to early 1980s Salas-period Matl workshop production. The MS-12 code denotes the specific artisan within the Salas atelier who fabricated these pieces.
Bold, dimensional, and richly detailed, these earrings remain highly collectible examples of Mexican modernist jewelry...
