When I received this Venetian glass intaglio Maltese-styled pendant from my Italian supplier, I really had no particular idea of how this would be made . . . but I loved all of the colors and the design. Fast forward and with a limited supply of gemstones available to work with, and I was so happy to find I still had a strand of lovely aqua quartz ovals available. We work with what we have on hand, and much like making dinner . . . this necklace evolved. A strand of beautifully delicate aqua quartz faceted ovals, have been enhanced by creamy freshwater pearls found stationed along the strand. The addition of some tiny daisy spacers flanking the pearls, brings out the gold of the stunning removable hinged-bail Maltese style intaglio pendant and the aqua of the center intaglio repeats in the aqua ovals of the necklace. This beautiful intaglio necklace would look gorgeous worn with so many differing wardrobe choices and is the perfect anecdote for a year round accessory.
