We are thrilled to be able to offer this museum quality antique Victorian - Art Deco Lapis Lazuli Goddess Woman Cameo Pendant Necklace in 14 Karat Gold with Enamel and Pearls on a graduated Lapis Lazuli Bead Necklace. The Lapis Lazuli chain is detachable so the cameo can be worn as a brooch if desired. The pendant has an extraordinary hand carved cameo image of a neoclassical goddess maiden in Lapis Lazuli. Carving of cameos in hardstone such as Lapis is exceedingly difficult and requires the skills of an extraordinary artisan. The face of the woman is serene and beautiful. The carving is very deep and of museum quality with extraordinary details in the face and hair of the woman. This is one of the finest hard stone cameos we have seen. The cameo is set in a 14 Karat Gold frame. It has a surmount of applied three dimensional leaves at the top. The cameo is surrounded by a halo of elegant seed pearls. The pendant is further adorned with black enamel set within exquisite gold scroll work. The artistry and craftsmanship of this masterpiece are of the highest quality. The fine blue lapis lazuli cameo surrounded by gold leaves, pearls, black enamel and exquisite gold work is just extraordinary. The pendant hangs from a chain of fabulous graduated Lapis Lazuli beads. The lapis is of the highest quality and is flecked with gold throughout. The beads are graduated from 7mm to 15mm in diameter. This Locket Pendant Necklace is a magnificent piece of Austro-Hungarian Garnet, Turquoise and Pearl jewelry. It is in the Renaissance Revival style and dates to circa 1870. The gems are all set in silver gilt as was the custom of the Austro-Hungarian jewels. The bale is 14 Karat Gold. In the center is a gorgeous Pearl set in a flower motif collet. The pearl is surrounded by a flower halo of 8 pear shape flat cut Bohemian Garnet gems. The garnets are all set in decorated collets. The border is set with two oval flat cut Garnets and eight Turquoise cabochons that alternate with raised flower motif designs. The locket is also engraved on both the front and in a wonderful pattern on the back. The locket opens to reveal places for two photos if desired.
