Georgian Toby Jug - Wood C1785
By Ralph Wood Pottery
Located in Melbourne, Victoria
A fine early toby jug, from the Wood family of potters. Traditional form, seated and holding a foaming jug of beer, dressed in clothing of the day. Toby jugs originated in the mid 18th century in Staffordshire. The name perhaps comes from Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth night; although I think both the jug and Sir Toby got their names from the song "The Brown Jug...

Victorian Sterling Silver 'Amity Eternity Infinity' Locket
Located in Brisbane City, QLD
A wonderfully large sterling silver Victorian locket with an elaborate 'Amity, Eternity, Infinity' monogram to the centre front. The oval highly polished locket hangs from a tapering but large bale which allows either a large chain or bolt ring clasp to slide through with ease. To the front of the piece is an elaborate 'AEI' monogram which has been applied over the top of the locket, however is original to the piece. This monogram is often seen in Victorian jewellery and stands for 'Amity, Eternity & Infinity'. The firmly closing locket features two windows inside with glass to place a photograph or lock of hair behind. The piece dates to circa 1890 and due to the lack of hallmarks is unlikely to be English, but perhaps American in origin. A gorgeous example of Victorian era silver jewellery which is still so wearable today. Marked - unmarked but tests as sterling silver Measures - 6.75cm L x 4cm W Total weight of piece - 30.6 grams (NB this includes the internal components of locket) NB in the modelled and styled photographs the locket is pictured with a Victorian sterling silver book chain...

Andrew Grima 18 Karat Gold, Citrine and Diamond Ear Clips
By Andrew Grima
Located in Brisbane City, QLD
The most incredible pair of gold ear clips by perhaps the most famous modernist jeweller to have lived, Andrew Grima. Formed from 18 karat gold this 'nest' style pair of ear clips are crafted with satin finished gold bars which interconnect, each centring on an octagonal citrine and accented with baguette cut diamonds. The three dimensional clips are typical of the work by Grima in the 1960s and is reminiscent of some of the famed pieces he made for royalty and high society. The rear of the clips are marked for Haller Jewellery Company which is where Grima first began designing his jewels before forming his own company. Fully hallmarked with London hallmarks, the ear clips (and matching brooch) are assayed for 1965. To the rear there are hinged clips which are working well and are secure. Andrew Grima most notably has designed jewels for Princess Margaret, Princess Anne and the Queen, and his jewels in recent years have become extremely desirable. This pair of clips are truly one of a kind and they have all of us at The Antique Guild...

Contemporary Brass Light Pendant, Nephentes Cordon/Tendril by Christopher Boots
By Christopher Boots
Located in Warsaw, PL
Contemporary Brass Light Pendant, Nephentes by Christopher Boots In Greek mythology, Nepenthes is a magical substance that quells all sorrows. NEPENTHES is inspired by the carnivorous plant Nepenthaceae, named after this mythical, soporific potion. The flamboyant Nepenthaceae seduce their prey with enticing interiors, sweet scents and sugary nectar. NEPENTHES expresses these dangerous but pleasurable properties through a sculptural contrast between the hard geometry of solid brass tendrils and the glowing delicacy of amorphous hand blown glass. Images present different size variants and examples of finish. This item is available in multiple finishes and configurations. In the description bellow we present available options for the dimensions, finish, suspension type etc. Please contact us directly and we will guide you through configuration process.
