Mechanical enameled box by Louis Kuppenheim. Very rare box, created during the art deco period in the city of Pforzheim Germany, back in the 1934. This colorful box is closely to mint condition, designed with geometric shapes at the Louis Kuppenheim silversmith workshop. It was crafted with impeccable details in solid .935/.999 silver, with gilded finish in the interior and embellished with classic chiseled borders. Has an exceptional workmanship as you expect of the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, with a remarkable geometric composition made up with red, blue and black enamels topped with accents in yellow gold. It is fitted with discrete invisible hinges and with one integrated mechanical push button for opening. Weight: 188.20 Grams, (120.64 Dwt). Measurements: 73 mm by 84 mm by 14 mm (2.87 x 3.31 x 0.55 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with German marks, the maker's mark LK Inside an oval cartouche associated to the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, the mark for the assay of the .935 silver, the case model number and signed, "LK .935 STERLING 192". Louis Kuppenheim The company was grounded in 1854 by Louis Kuppenheim (1824-1889) and Heinrich Witzenmann, specialized in silver and gold and enameled artefacts. On the World Exhibition in 1900 the firm received a gold medal for a letter opener. In that same year the company opened a branch in the Rue Richelieu 67 in Paris. In these years some designs by Hans Christiansen were executed, amongst them very delicately enameled silver cigarette cases...

Enameled box by Louis Kuppenheim for Cartier Paris. Very rare box, created during the art deco period in the city of Pforzheim Germany, back in the 1930. This beautiful box was specially commissioned by the Cartier branch in Paris France to the Louis Kuppenheim silversmith workshop. It was crafted with impeccable details in solid .935/.999 silver, with gilded finish in the interior and high polished frames. Has an exceptional workmanship as you expect of the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, with a remarkable geometric composition made up with in blue and black enamels. It is fitted with nine barrels invisible hinges and a push snap thumb for opening. This box is very rare and involves three big names in their manufacture, such; Cartier, Louis Kuppenheim and Alfred Dunhill. Weight: 128.40 Grams, (82.31 Dwt). Measurements: 83 mm by 58 mm by 12 mm (3.27 x 2.28 x 0.47 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the maker's mark LK inside an oval cartouche associated to the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, which is obliterated by the mark AD associated to Alfred Dunhill Paris, twice with the French national mark for the assay of the .935 silver, the case model number, the Cartier serial numbers and signed in full, "CARTIER MADE IN FRANCE STERLING No3277 LK/AD .935". Desk oil lamp designed by Charles L. Tiffany for Tiffany & Co. Beautiful desk oil lamp or cigar lighter, created in New York at the Tiffany Studios during the art nouveau period, back in the 1893. This very rare round oil lamp, was realized under the directory period of Charles L. Tiffany (1891-1902) in repousse silver. The design have influences of Roman Revival styles and a lot of symbolisms, depicting the model of a bee associated to the city of Ephesus and mounted with a genuine Roman coin. Bees played an essential role in Greek and Roman religious traditions. They, and the honey they produce, have many symbolic meanings. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that bees were servants and messengers of the gods and goddesses. The Romans believed that a swarm of bees was to be avoided because while the swarm was on the move, they were the carrying messages and doing the biddings of the gods. They also feature in many stories of the Greek and Roman gods. One story tells of the birth of Zeus, King of the Gods renamed Jupiter by the Romans. The coin mounted in this piece show us the standing figure of Jupiter giving victory to the emperor. Roman Coin: Is a genuine Roman bronze antonianus coin from the Imperial period, struck in the name of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius Valerius Maximianus (286-305 AD). The obverse show the armored and crowned bust of Maximinus. At the reverse, he's standing and draped receiving the victory from a naked Jupiter holding a scepter with legend CONCORDIA MILITIAS.
