By Chamberlains Worcester

Located in New Orleans, LA

A fine pair of antique Chamberlains Worcester cabinet plates having a pleasing Asian design of figures in a garden and gorgeous Imari colors, circa 1810. At first he bought blank undecorated porcelain from other factories such as Caughley in Shropshire, but by the late 1780’s he was making his own wares at a new factory site in Severn Street, Diglis. The Chamberlain factory quickly established an enviable reputation for the production of finely painted porcelain. Admiral Lord Nelson and his mistress Lady Hamilton visited Chamberlain’s factory in August 1802 and ordered an extravagant breakfast, dinner and dessert...

Late Meyer Sauce Tureen On Dish With Serving Spoon/ Ladle.

Located in New Orleans, LA

An antique 19th c. English Keeling & Co. Staffordshire, England, stoneware or semi-porcelain lidded sauce or gravy tureen, under tray and ladle featuring a colorful floral pattern inspired by Japanese Imari styles, which typically utilize red, blue, and gold enamels. The pattern is "JERSEY" manufactured by Keeling & Co. noted as "LATE MAYER". While marked with "1790", this often refers to a historical pattern date rather than the actual manufacturing date, which is mid-to-late 19th century. It showcases traditional ironstone or semi-porcelain construction with a vibrant, intricate floral design commonly seen in English pottery of the period. Similar pieces from this era were widely produced in England, heavily influenced by imported Japanese porcelain. A lovely addition to your Imari collection...
