Backgammon Tray in Shagreen, Shell and Bronze Patina Brass by Kifu, Paris

By R & Y Augousti

Located in New York, NY

The Paris based label has distinguished themselves since their launch, with their iconic use of shagreen mixed with brass and other exotic materials. All furniture is handcrafted by skilled artisans, ultimately making each piece unique, designed in Paris and produced in the Philippines. The KIFU PARIS Backgammon Game Tray is the ultimate luxury game. Accented with a mixture of shagreen, pen shell and bronze-patina brass this piece comes with all game parts in a velvet pouch. Available in a light or dark color-way. The dimensions of this piece are 60 x 34.5 x 5 cm All Kifu Paris pieces are handmade by artisans, ultimately making each piece unique. Custom color/sizing available on request. Wipe clean with soft dry cloth. Although inspired by her parents, her collection of Home Accessories and Furniture is a distinct identity of its own. Kifu uses handmade techniques of elaborate inlay patterns of shagreen, shells, semi-precious stones, materials she experienced as a child growing up in her parent’s studio, but interpreted in a younger quirkier way reflecting her youth. From her "jewelry inspired knobs" on decorative boxes, gold bar boxes and an extravagant inlay pattern mix of shagreen and shell inspired by galactic constellations, as seen on her enormous round mirror...

Mid-Century Hand-Blown Murano Fluted & Footed Scavo Glass Centerpiece Bowl

Mid-Century Hand-Blown Murano Fluted & Footed Scavo Glass Centerpiece Bowl

Located in New York, NY

This Mid-Century Modernist Scavo glass centerpiece bowl, crafted in Murano, Italy, circa 1980, is a brilliant example of Venetian glass artistry and technical innovation. Hand-blown by master glassmakers, the bowl features a fluted and footed form, elevating it as both a sculptural object and a functional piece. The Scavo technique, which mimics the weathered, textured appearance of excavated ancient glass, gives the bowl its unique matte surface with a soft, subtly distressed finish. This handcrafted effect imbues the piece with a sense of antiquity while remaining firmly modern in form. The delicate fluting of the bowl’s edge adds an airy elegance, while the footed base provides structural balance and a touch of refinement. Versatile in use and design, this centerpiece bowl is equally suited for serving, display, or as a standalone decorative object. Its timeless aesthetic bridges ancient craftsmanship with contemporary sensibilities, making it an ideal accent for modern interiors. In excellent condition, this Murano Scavo glass bowl...
