This is one of things that I was so excited as a parent to share with my son when he was little. Scooby Doo has transcended so many generations and I have been trying to do a Scooby piece for a long time. I finally got the color palette exactly like I wanted it and I would have gotten it done sooner if it wasn't for those meddling kids.
Jill is an abstract painter and a pop artist. She has melded these two genres together to create a unique style of artwork. She comes to this NFT space after more than 20 years as a graphic designer and over a decade as an artist in the physical world.
She is inspired by the logos and icons from pop culture that are memories that formed her life – and the intent is that it invokes feeling of nostalgia from those that see it.
But behind the bright colors the breaking apart of the logos was an act of rebellion, against the years she had to create within the constraints of a graphic design job – and after further introspection it was representative of the brokenness as the feeling of an artist that never fit in the traditional community, the brokenness that came with being a breast cancer survivor even though it was that journey that made her want to start painting again, and the countless other things that try and break us as adults.
This artwork is meant to be a statement piece and will be the perfect addition to streaming TVs, digital frames in homes and offices, as well as apple watches and lock screens on phones.
