Stripping the space to its foundation and designing a new home, And And And Studio sought to take advantage of the sloping property, and had the idea to raise the house a story above. This afforded views, hid the car parking, and allowed for a distinct interior. The feature effect of raising the house a story above grade creates a treehouse like effect – when you walk into the main floor, you float above the trees. The stunning combination of natural light and materials, alongside vintage and new interior furnishings, give this home a unique and relaxed feel. The studio took inspiration from Craig Ellwood houses, using a similar reduction to the main building, repetitive grid, and exposed structure in the home.
