A Bar to Bath

Beach House by The Luster Kind in Los Angeles, CA

A wet bar to bath conversion near the beach in Los Angeles, CA. The space proved challenging because of its small footprint under a stairwell with no natural light. An existing wet bar was demolished and space was incorporated from a small storage closet behind it. The combined area resulted in a new 48 square foot bathroom for our client to use for their newborn daughter. The materials are light, bright, warm and feminine. The terrazzo adds a playful element that also fills the space with delicate elegance. Space has been maximized with a floating vanity and cabinet and a frameless shower door. The vertical installation of handmade ceramic tile on all walls from floor to ceiling also creates an illusion of a larger space. Both ambient and task lighting offers ample lighting in addition to natural light filtering through a ribbed glass door.
