Brooklyn Heights Condominium

Apartment by The Brooklyn Studio in Brooklyn, NY

The Brooklyn Studio transformed this newly renovated 1,580 sq. ft. pre-war Brooklyn Heights Love Lane Mews condominium into a luxurious haven filled with joy for a bon vivant who envisioned ornate exuberance, floral motifs and a warm pastel color palette for her home.

The interior design journey began with the primary bedroom suite, where we crafted a dreamy dressing room and bathroom to cater to our client’s desires for a space that exuded opulence. We sourced a custom-designed, hand-carved, leather-lined cabinet to house precious accessories amongst a vintage Venetian glass flower basket light and an antique Kazak rug. The primary bathroom emerged as a work of art, with a generous shower adorned with handcrafted scalloped Zellige mosaic tiles and a square field of mosaic floor tiles and decorative inlay. A pair of oversized Chinoiserie mirrors hung above the mosharabi-paneled double vanity with scalloped sinks, harmonizing perfectly with the golden yellow hue that is woven through the entire project.

Working with our architectural team, we brought notable changes to much of the apartment. We installed custom millwork in the living room and primary bedroom to provide a stunning showcase for the client's extensive book collection. In the living room, a sofa niche framed with wallpaper and hand-carved mosharabi screens created an inviting space filled with artistry and charm.

The newly added built-in banquette in the kitchen became a focal point in the home, offering a cozy and inviting spot for dining. We outfitted the u-shaped kitchen with custom millwork, Delft tiles, cherrywood butcher block counters, and a stunning range in Provence blue. A custom-built pantry complements the kitchen design, adding practicality and elegance to the overall space.

The primary bedroom and bathroom were also enlarged and reconfigured. We created a walk-through dressing area and installed an elegant floral silk wallpaper to conceal the doors.
