California Beach House
It was a real pleasure to renovate this 1940s shingled beach cottage into a fresh, sparkling, weekend destination on a California sandy beach. With a nautical, Nantucket vibe, the small house came to life with painted woodwork and floors, and a casual grouping of antique, flea market, and new reproduction furnishings. All the woodwork was added to the interior. Walls were removed to give the house an open flow. It captures a sense of old world, simple post and beam construction with plenty of bead board.
