Glebe Place Residence

Family Home by Rafael De Cárdenas / Architecture at Large in United Kingdom

The five-bedroom residence was renovated to evoke timeless luxury, balancing contemporary classics with the home’s historic character. Dark limed oak paneling line the entrance hallway providing a backdrop for double height ceilings and a dramatic chandelier. A restrained palette of Portland limestone, hardwood, and natural materials is punctuated by vibrant accents of turquoise, fuchsia, brass, and deep purple furnishings from modern European and American designers. Landscape architect Philip Nixon consulted on the garden design, which features a green wall, palm fronds surrounding a checkerboard patio, and a reflecting pool with a cantilevered slate bench.
