Family Home by Brown Design Group in Los Angeles, CA

Spanish Treasure is how Ryan Brown of Brown Design Group refers to this 1929 Spanish Colonial Revival house in the Los Feliz hills of Los Angeles. Designed by architect Harry Hayden Whiteley, the house had been meticulously restored before Brown’s clients purchased it. So rather than work on remodeling, which is one of Brown’s fortes, he had the rare opportunity to walk into readymade spaces and decorate. A dynamic melding of art collected by the clients, antiques, and vintage pieces from Blackman Cruz, Lucca and Lawson Fenning contemporizes the extraordinary interiors, with original ironwork, stained glass and honeycomb-coffered ceilings. With a neutral palette as a background, Brown also included pieces he had bought during travel to Europe – to give the interiors an authentic and collected vibe.
