Kuwait Estate

This 40,000 square foot villa sits on a triple lot in the Shuwaikh Residential District of Kuwait City, Kuwait. This project included an involved architecture and interiors design effort that took place over the course of 5 years with construction taking 3 additional years. We collaborated with local engineering consultants to help realize this project. Site work includes a separate pool cabana with basement and a basalt clad pool with integrated hot tub and custom metal bench seat that doubles as the housing for the spa jets. Special considerations had to be made to ensure the project would survive the harsh Middle East climate. The exterior façade was clad in travertine to meet these requirements and that material was carried to the interior walls and floors to help bring a cohesive, flowing feel to this estate. Large glass windows were installed with exterior aluminum shutters that can be fully retracted into hidden pockets. The villa boasts a vast array of living spaces from the basement floor that is laid out as an indoor/outdoor entertainment area for large social gatherings, to the main and second floors that contain all of the family’s daily living spaces. The contemporary interior features fixtures, furnishings, and art, which were globally sourced from various national and international, manufacturers and artists.
