Modern Nature

This project awakened us to the power of exterior spaces, particularly the garden. The opportunity to work on a legacy garden, both naturally wild and thoughtfully designed, opened our eyes to the fascination and joy that a substantial garden can bring to an interior, and all the ways that the two can be integrated.

The client’s passion for flowers was matched by an enthusiasm for art — she had been collecting art that resonated deeply with lauren. flowers and paintings were the seeds of the mutually educational partnership between lauren and the client in this artful and fulfilling project.

The result, as many projects are, is a letter of appreciation to the artwork. It is also a celebration of finding a truly kindred spirit in a client — an ode to the trip that we took together to create a space that enhances and embodies natural beauty.

The project served to introduce geremia to new landscape and floral growing classes, and a large community of garden enthusiasts. It has connected us to new projects with large grounds and solariums, which we will embrace in our development as designers.
