Amid the diverse architectural styles in Los Angeles is a graceful white two-story house, a friendly and welcoming hybrid of modern and transitional. The home has a traditional floor plan, with home office off the entry to the left, and living room off the entry to the right, dining room and family room connecting to the kitchen, and bedrooms upstairs. The clients, contemporary art collectors, envisioned a sophisticated, elegant outcome, which Annette English & Associates achieved by pairing select iconic art with complementary furniture. English created dramatic pastiches in the rooms on the ground floor while upstairs the mood in the master bedroom borders on zen. The luminous living room, with 20-foot-high pitched ceiling, epitomizes the home’s hybrid character, with a raw, earthy chandelier made of cascading agate sheets hovering above a modern steel cocktail table by industrial designer Ron Arad. A growing green garden encompasses the home's exterior, welcoming the clients home.
