Paris Apartment

Apartment by Annie Kelly Art + Design in Paris, FR

This was a charming but tiny one-bedroom apartment in a seventeenth-century building facing a courtyard, across the Seine from the Louvre. Because the apartment was so small, we replaced the cupboards on either side of the living room fireplace with large French doors mirroring the windows opposite; curtained and lit from behind, they gave the illusion of another courtyard beyond.

Although furniture was brought from both the USA and the UK, the color choices had to be made in Paris, as the quality of the light was too subtle to make any real decisions back in our Los Angeles base. With cool sunlight flooding the apartment, warm pinks and reds soon became obvious choices for the front rooms.
