Parkside Apartment

Apartment by TenBerke in New York, NY

Occupying a full floor, this apartment was designed to emphasize the spectacular urban and park views and serve as a serene and airy environment to display the client’s important collection of modern and contemporary art. Visitors enter a central foyer that opens on the large central living room with expansive windows overlooking the park. A central seating group with a pair of sofas anchors the center of the room and invites you toward the view. This seating area is flanked by and a grand piano on one side and a smaller seating group on the other. A large custom textured glass chandelier hugs the ceiling, providing warm illumination without distracting from the nighttime views. To the east, the dining room features a large, commissioned artwork by Miya Ando that is inset in the wall on axis with the doorway. It mirrors the fireplace on axis to the west located in the library. Throughout the apartment, the trim and millwork are crisp and simplified, a 21st century interpretation of uptown style. The bedrooms feature custom headboards and nightstands with integrated lighting. Furnishings throughout are plush and modern with inviting, textured fabrics and clean lines.
