Penthouse Triplex

The light flooding in from both East and West aspects, this triplex high above Hyde Park allowed me to use strong, sometimes dark, colours for rooms leading off enormous halls and reception rooms and the three-story ‘crystal’---in reality acrillic---bannistered staircase. The furniture is on an equally massive scale: the dining room’s scarlet chairs surround a 1930’s table formed of chunky carved architectural elements, with white plaster lights hanging above, while the bathrooms are either entirely marble, or alternatively, walled with verre eglomise. The angled bookcases in the study swing apart to reveal a staircase to the private roof-garden.
