Pied-à-terre

Apartment by Doug Meyer Studio in New York, NY

This New York City project consists of an entry hall, hallway, kitchen, living room, dining room and bedroom. Many hallmarks of Meyer’s design esthetic are represented here – specifically his love of color and how he treats floors and walls as back drops and large color fields. All the floors are poured resin in lime green – inspired by a fabric that he covered the 19th century set of French caned bergère chairs. Meyer removed all signs of molding and base boards in the main rooms (living and dining) and had the walls painted mat green – a contrast to the shinny resin floors. The green walls create a wonderful backdrop to the art collection.
