The Black & White Project

Apartment by Doug Meyer Studio in New York, NY

This is a very cutting edge project. The space (a duplex apartment in New York's Chelsea district) was designed for an old collage friend of Meyer's (she is a New York fashion designer and we both met at Parsons School of Design summer school when we were both fifteen) - She and her husband approached Meyer and said they wanted something completely different and wow! They both really are not into color - which created the basis of the all black and white theme - the central hall/gallery is the only color added to the space with the resin turquoise floor and matching console - this area is also used as a showroom for her collection. Each room uses a different technique and materials to create it's environment. Meyer generally refers to his interiors as more conceptual than decorative.
