Rowhouse

Retail by Frederick Tang Architecture in New York, NY

Row House was the first brick and mortar location of a rowing-based fitness and lifestyle brand. The studio occupied the ground floor and cellar level of a new construction condominium building on West 59th Street.

The space is shared with EVF, a personalized training and Cross Fit space, operated by the same owners. The two fitness spaces needed to share an identity but remain visually distinct. The Row House space upstairs is punctuated with shots of bright yellow and diagonals reminiscent of the collegiate inspired shield logo. Walnut cabinetry and polished concrete floors make the space feel more refined. Downstairs, the Cross Fit space uses a similar geometry (diagonals of lights) but the palette is rough concrete and raw plywood.
