Sag Harbor
Country House by Michelle R. Smith Interiors in Sag Harbor, NY
A quaint Whaler’s Cottage near Sag Harbor Village, built in 1790, this home was purchased with my mom as a weekend getaway. A mix of antiques sourced from 1stdibs, Round Top Market, and custom pieces fill the home. I renovated the bathrooms and the kitchen, but original details, such as the floors, were left mostly untouched. A screened dining porch off the back was also added- a reference to my Louisiana childhood. The previous owner was an artist, and she left little treasures like handmade tiles around the fireplaces and around some door frames.
