When the homeowners moved in, the kitchen was dark and separated from the dining room. They wanted an open and airy kitchen that would serve as a family gathering point. Ryan Brown and his team at Brown Design Group reconfigured the space so the family could have their cake and eat it too. Designing Craftsman-style cabinetry and a breakfast nook for casual meals and games, Brown took the word “open” literally and designed part of the kitchen with open shelving for added charm. The rest of the house is decorated with Ryan’s signature mix of contemporary and vintage, including the nickel dining table base and leather chairs and the Danish midcentury chairs in the breakfast area. All in all, the interiors looks as they have been collected over a long period of time.
