When a family she had worked with twice before called to say they had purchased a property at Silo Ridge — the Hudson Valley enclave that has become one of the country's most talked-about new residential destinations — designer Shelley Cekirge knew the project would be something special. What made it even more so was the rare gift of clients who already knew exactly who they were.

That clarity of vision shaped every decision. The brief was elegant and energetic in equal measure: a home away from home, elevated but alive, refined but unmistakably full of color and youth. Working from the ground up gave Cekirge the freedom to get there from the very first finish selection.

In a house of this scale, she made an early and decisive choice: the walls would do the heavy lifting. Rather than defaulting to white, Cekirge commissioned a custom Venetian plaster for the entry and main living areas — not the expected ivory or beige, but a rich, pearlescent gray that blurs the line between interior and landscape, drawing the sweeping views of the property directly into the room. Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms are wrapped in wallcoverings from Holly Hunt, Philip Jeffries, Zoffany, and Innovations, each space calibrated to feel distinct and deeply personal.

Every window in the house — and there are many — is dressed in custom motorized shades and curtains, with materials sourced from Dedar, Weitzner, and Holly Hunt, and controls integrated through Lutron. The result is a home where no detail was left to chance and no room feels quite like any other.
