Terrell Hills Tudor

Set amidst oaks on a private lot, this spacious Tudor style home was built in the 1940s as though it was a manor house in the English countryside. The house had grown dark and heavy over the years and needed to be lightened and refreshed for a modern family that loves to entertain. The clients, who took great pleasure in the decorating process, are passionate about English, French, and Asian antiques. We were able to add considerably to their collection with a handsome 18th century Italian credenza in the entry hall, a 19th century English table surrounded by Queen Anne chairs in the breakfast room, and taupe-and-white hand-painted Gracie wallpaper to set off a magnificent pair of Louis XVI marble-top commodes in the master bedroom. The result: livable rooms that are as comfortable and welcoming as they are rich and layered.
