ARTISTIC CONTEXT / COMPARATIVE FIELD This Barcelona street scene belongs to the long tradition of Catalan urban painting developed from the atmospheric boulevard views of Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas through the structured Mediterranean modernity of Joaquim Sunyer and later continued in twentieth-century Barcelona street interpretations by Josep Amat and Francesc Serra Castellet.
