His paintings focus primarily on Mediterranean landscapes and Catalan urban environments rendered with dense chromatic structure and expressive surface texture characteristic of late twentieth-century Spanish post-impressionist practice. ARTISTIC CONTEXT / COMPARATIVE FIELD This Barcelona street scene belongs to the long tradition of Catalan urban painting developed from the atmospheric boulevard views of Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas through the structured Mediterranean modernity of Joaquim Sunyer and later continued in twentieth-century Barcelona street interpretations by Josep Amat and Francesc Serra Castellet.
