"Balance" by Denny Haskew Unique, 1 of 1, Figurative Sculpture 15.5 x 8 x 8" bronze, gold leaf, silver leaf, granite base Male and Female nudes balance together on a sphere in a dance of unity. "ENTER HERE, YOU ARE GOLDEN. IT IS NOT THE ROOM NOR THE LIGHTING. THE MALE THAT LIVES, IS YOU. THE FEMALE THAT LIVES, IS YOU. HOLDING, TWISTING WITH THE TORCH OF LIFE. AT TIMES TURNING YOUR BACK ON WHAT LIFE IS. ENTER HERE YOU ARE GOLDEN." -DH ABOUT THE ARTIST: Denny Haskew currently resides in Loveland, Colorado where he is actively engaged in the art industry as a sculptor. He received his degree from the University of Utah, then served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Having spent numerous years as a guide and ski instructor, Denny has learned to love the rivers and mountains of the western states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. After moving to Loveland, a hub of successful working sculptors, he wasted no time in getting monumental sculpture experience through working with renowned sculptors including Fritz White and Kent Ullberg N.A. Since 1987, Denny has created and placed dozens of monumental compositions; spanning the full spectrum of the figurative genre. As a member of the Potawatomi Citizen Nation, it is only natural for his artwork to follow the Native American culture. His art has not been limited to Native American and southwestern subjects, however, as he frequently explores abstract forms placing emphasis on the qualities of the metal and stone used. As a Charter member of the National Sculptors' Guild and being close to other sculptors and the Loveland area foundries has helped him to master all the foundry processes involved in producing a desirable and lasting monumental bronze sculpture. Over 50 major public placements include the Smithsonian Institution, DC.; the Gilcrease Museum, OK; Cerritos, CA; Little Rock, AR; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux collection, MN, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians...

"Champagne Poppy Meadow" Contemporary Mixed Media Floral Painting on Canvas
"Champagne Poppy Meadow" Contemporary Mixed Media Floral Painting on Canvas

"Champagne Poppy Meadow" Contemporary Mixed Media Floral Painting on Canvas

By Antoinette Ferwerda

Located in New York, NY

This painting by Antoinette is a stylish and luxurious mixed media on canvas piece depicting abstract flowers with bold use of color and contrast. The gold leaf background and the brilliant deep crimson and violets from the florals allows for the luminosity to shine through effortlessly, as the lines and intricate details of the silk paper laid over paint and mixed media add a most interesting texture. The artist's hand embellishes gold leaf to add elegant accents. This painting comes housed in a black oak floater frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 47 x 63 inches Frame measures 48.5 x 64.5 inches Antoinette Ferwerda is a renowned Australian artist largely recognized for producing a bold collection of fine artwork that joyfully explores the geometry of shape and the changing light from dusk to dawn. Championing her love for shape, reflection, and nature using a diverse pallet of mixed media to portray her abstract interpretations of nature. Antoinette's diverse past and a childhood that was somewhat nomadic has inspired much of her work today. Antoinette’s backstory reads like something out of an adventure series, having spent her early days living in remote pockets of Papua New Guinea, where she was lucky to spend time in a seaside shack on Ela Beach in Port Moresby, as well as the volcanic town of Rabaul, the Cargo Port Lae, before moving on to Darwin where her Dad worked for the Red Cross and helped with the re-build process after Cyclone Tracy. This was followed by a family stint in Europe, visiting Netherlands, London, Belgium, France, Italy, and Switzerland, before finally settling back in Melbourne for her formative years. Her love for nature and exploring the patterns and relationships she finds within started early. “I’ve been forever fascinated with color and the magical interplay of light”. “Blessed to have a teacher Mum who fostered regular creative time during our nomadic stint, my childhood was largely spent creating, especially outdoors”. Never without a pen, sketchbook or scraps of paper, her natural ability to create in layers instinctively started in these early years. Although her work continues to evolve, she consistently creates works that are rich in layers, resulting in pieces that are optimistic, luminous and full of stories from her colorful life. Her signature work is abundant with color and texture, resulting in a transparent quality of her works. Adaptable to any palette, Antoinette has produced works from a diversity of spectrums and mediums – sun-soaked, muted and ethereal, vibrant, as well as monochromatic with accents of gold. Her themes include abstract and metaphysical interpretations of fossicking in rock pools, exploring the rolling hills of the countryside both here and abroad, the rock formations of the Australian outback and the magical light of a European summer to name just a few. Her dream and longing to become an artist became a reality after starting her own family and farewelling a corporate life in the pharmaceutical industry, with her debut solo exhibition in 2014. Six years on, Antoinette has fast become a firm favorite amongst interior designers, stylists and home decorators alike, having been represented by fenton&fenton, Thom Gallery and Trit House (formally Click On Furniture) to name just a few. Continually experimenting and evolving as an artist, Antoinette invites the viewer to look deeper through surface layers to find hidden stories of color and form. Past collections have been inspired by visits to the bustling markets of India, the morning light outside her childhood beach shack...

1970s Large Wood, Copper Inlay Sculpture Wall Relief Tropical Flowers Motif

By Helen Weber

Located in Surfside, FL

Helen Weber Large wall hanging wood and metal sculptural relief in a tropical Hawaiian or Polynesian motif with tropical flowers. "Art belongs everywhere from cruise ships to churches" This has been the mantra of Helen Webber since she began her career in the 1970’s creating hundreds of art works for public spaces throughout the United states and abroad. It was her strongly held belief that art can touch the spirit of many more people than those whose art experiences are limited to the halls and walls of museums and galleries. Her bold and richly hued art works executed in a wide variety of media, such as tapestry, glass, metal wood and clay have been installed in universities, corporations, medical facilities, cruise ships, hotels, religious spaces, community and civic centers and even in a train station. Over the years many architects and interior designers have collaborated with Helen Webber finding that her work enhanced their designed environments, giving her the opportunity to create art for well known corporations as well as multitudes of residences. It is the tapestries that she is best known for, and it is this medium that dominates the largest body of her work, which was first introduced to the design world in the mid 1970's. The tapestries utilize a fabric collage technique combining an array of designer upholstery fabrics such as velvets, brocades, worsteds, jacquards, mohair, hand woven woolens, among many others. Yarns of all kinds are integrated into the tapestries surrounding the edges of each fabric piece. Some clients, who saw that Webber’s particular art style could be expressed in a variety of media, offered her commissions in stained and etched glass, wood collage, sculpted tile...

Serse creates drawings by erasure. He covers a sheet of paper with a dense layer of graphite, then ''draws'' on its surface with an eraser. Using photos as his point of departure, Serse renders mountains, bodies of water and trees from the shades of gray that emerge as he plies his eraser. The resulting image is mounted on aluminum. This image has a powerful presence because of the composition and the clarity of its realism. Serse was born in 1952 in San Polo di Piave. He lives and works in Trieste. The artist has produced over the years an extraordinary series of images that have been included in the book “Drawing”, edited by Phaidon Press. These also owed him the participation in significant national and international exhibitions such as: Parkview Museum in Beijing and Singapore (2018 - 2019); Palazzo del Governatore, Parma, Italy (2018); Centre Pompidou, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris, France (2013); Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rimini, Italy (2012); Musée des Beaux-Arts et d’archéologie, Besançon, France (2010); Palazzo Reale, Milan, Italy (2007); De Garage Cultuurcentrum, Mechelen, Belgium (2006); III Biennial of Valencia, Spain (2005); S.M.A.K., Gent, Belgium (2004); Rufino Tamayo Museum, Mexico City, Mexico (2002); Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci, Prato, Italy (2002); Kunstverein Augsburg , Augsburg, Germany (2000); Musée de Beaux Arts, Gent, Belgium (1999); Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, Venice, Italy (1997).
