American Surrealist pipes and playing cards spirit of Magritte abstract Montage
Located in Norwich, GB
I love this extraordinary American surrealist piece - a collage/montage, an assembly of objects in a velvet-clad box/frame - for a number of reasons reasons. I love the fact that it depicts pipes, among the most iconic images of the surrealist movement, rooted in Magritte’s famous 1929 painting which depicts a pipe accompanied by the caption “Ceci n'est pas une pipe” (This is not a pipe). Marcel Duchamp loved using pipes...

Circle 11 - Dichromatic Glass Sculptural Artwork
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Chris Wood’s "Circle 11" is a dichroic glass light sculpture that captivates with its dynamic interplay of reflection and refraction. This contemporary geometric artwork features an intricate spiral of iridescent glass pieces, which shift in hue depending on the light and viewing angle. The piece harnesses natural and artificial light to create an evolving spectrum of colors, making it ideal for collectors of optical art, kinetic sculpture, and modern light installations. The rhythmic arrangement of elements invites viewers into a meditative experience, blending minimalism with an ethereal sense of movement. Wood uses a range of high and low-tech optical materials to harness patterns of light that suggest ephemeral glimpses of moments in the natural world. Her minimalist sculptures are simple arrangements creating kinetic patterns in response to the environments in which they are placed. The artist often uses a material called dichroic (meaning “two color”) glass, which was developed by NASA in the 1950's. Dichroic glass has a special optical coating meant to reflect certain wavelengths of light while letting others through, creating beautiful projections of light and color depending on the environment in which the artwork is placed. This 20 inch square sculptural artwork...

Daniel Arsham Future Relic 35MM Camera Sculpture in Original Box with Gloves
Located in Surfside, FL
Daniel Arsham (American, 1980-) 35MM Camera Sculpture Plaster and crushed glass multiple, contained in the original foam-lined presentation box with a pair of original handling gloves. Dimensions: 4 X 6 X 6.5 (approximately) Daniel Lambert Arsham (born 8 September 1980) is an American visual artist. He lives and works in New York City. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Miami, Florida, Arsham was 12 when Hurricane Andrew destroyed his childhood home. This traumatic event has been a continuous theme through his work. Arsham attended the Design and Architecture High School and was awarded a full scholarship to The Cooper Union in New York City. After graduating from school, Arsham moved back to Miami and started an exhibition space called "The House" with several artist friends It was through The House that Arsham met Emmanuel Perrotin in 2004. By 2005, Galerie Perrotin in Paris was representing Arsham. Arsham was part of a circle of Miami artists around Carlos Betancourt that included Craig Coleman, Carlos Alves and Kenny Scharf as well as younger artists like Martin Oppel, Bhakti Baxter and Daniel Arsham.Arsham was invited to create stage design and tour with choreographer Merce Cunningham's Dance Company leading to ongoing stage design practice and a sustained collaboration with choreographer and former Cunningham dancer, Jonah Bokaer. Arsham founded Snarkitecture with Alex Mustonen in 2007. The architecture collaboration has included work with fashion brands, interior and architectural design, and a complete line of functional design objects. Daniel Arsham is mostly known for his objects cast in volcanic ash - as if they were found on some future archeological site. They are called "Future Relics". Daniel Arsham’s "Future Relics" series is one of the most enigmatic and compelling ongoing art projects. Arsham’s artistic oeuvre primarily consists of taking objects that we do not use anymore — old clocks, phones, cameras or music cassettes — and recasts them as archaeological artifacts, as if they were excavated by scientists in some distant, dystopian future. The packaging of the relics is done in a very particular way. The design of the packaging looks almost like something you would find in a museum setting, but a back-of-house museum setting, where they would keep artifacts and relics. They would be numbered, with information about the weight, provenance and where they were discovered. In 2014, Arsham was named to the Hypebeast HB100 list, and has continued to remain on the Top 100 list to date. Some of Arsham's more recent collaborative endeavors exist in the fashion world. These include projects with brands such as Tiffany, Adidas, Dior, Toraichi, Byredo, Rimowa, and Porsche. Arsham's work has been shown at PS1 in New York, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, The Athens Biennale in Athens, Greece, The New Museum in New York, Mills College Art Museum in Oakland, Cincinnati CAC, SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah GA, California and Carré d'Art de Nîmes, France, among others. Longtime friends Ronnie Fieg and Arsham have collaborated on numerous projects. Snarkitecture has designed six KITH stores, located in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles among others. In June 2017, Daniel Arsham and adidas' New Installation opened at KITH New York. The store was transformed into an "audio, visual and tactile experience" with a functioning New York payphone as the centerpiece, painted in adidas' signature blue. October 2017 marked the opening of the Arsham Fieg gallery located inside KITH New York. The gallery has had exhibitions from FriendsWithYou, Evren Erol, Youn Lee, Mike Lee and Sam Friedman. In May 2019, Arsham collaborated with Rimowa on a 500 piece limited edition series of eroded suitcase sculptures contained in functional Rimowa attaché cases. The collection was launched with the auction of a one-of-one example containing a hand-signed drawing of the work by Arsham at Sotheby's. In September 2022, Arsham and Rimowa released two 500 piece limited editions of pilots cases in silver or black containing eroded turntable sculptures. In January 2022, Arsham released an animated Pokemon short titled "A Ripple in Time" by Pokémon × Daniel Arsham...

Blown Glass

Untitled
Located in Toronto, Ontario
Caviar20 is excited to be offering this striking collage by the inimitable Louise Nevelson, who is regarded as one of the most original, influential, and successful American sculptors of the 20th century. Nevelson's enduring appeal lies in her distinct visual language, which is apparent in all of her works, regardless of medium. While her iconic monochromatic wood assemblages are instantly recognizable, she continuously experimented with diverse materials, including resin, steel, and bronze, as well as numerous printmaking techniques. Collage was an important part of Nevelson's practice, defining her signature aesthetic. Much like her approach to printmaking, her collages possess a sculptural ethos that transcends the two-dimensional surface, imbuing the composition with a remarkable sense of volume, texture, and depth. One could argue that Nevelson's sculpture was informed by collage in that she took assorted existing forms combining them in order to create an entirely new and distinct arrangement. This untitled collage is an exceptional example of the artist's mastery of the medium. Featuring an assemblage of wood veneer, mirror, and metal, this work reflects Nevelson's meticulous sense of form and rhythm. Subtle details, such as the alternating direction of the wood veneer grain further heighten the visual complexity of the otherwise minimal composition. The inclusion of wood veneer marks a notable shift for Nevelson, who was previously loyal to a strict monochromatic palette of black or white. It wasn’t until the 1970s with her experimentation in collage that she expanded her palette. Nevelson also created jewellery and this collage acknowledges her activity in that realm. Created at the age of 83 during the final chapter of her career, this piece powerfully captures Nevelson's enduring spirit and dedication to artistic innovation. Today Nevelson's work can be found in every major public collection across North America and beyond. Questions about this piece? Contact us. Visit our Toronto gallery on Thursdays or by appointment. "I'm Jealous of the Rain, " Contemporary Fine Art Mirror
Located in Westport, CT
This contemporary mixed media piece is made with mixed media on a circular mirror. Deep blue-grey color has been applied over the mirror, giving it a painterly aesthetic but also allowing for mirror to continue to show through. The mirror base reflects its surroundings and changes color in alternating light. It hangs beautifully and safely with a wooden cleat, giving the illusion that the work is almost floating on the wall. "'Moon Series' is a collection of works all created in the shape of a circle," the artist says. "I was drawn to the magic of this shape. It has no beginning or end, and no divisions, making it the perfect symbol of completeness. Large Murano Glass Abstract Blown Glass Sculpture Gold, Clear Constantini Vase
Located in Surfside, FL
Dimensions: 15.5 X 7 X 7 in. The organic shaped vase showcases an applied light gold colored threaded design enveloping the clear body, around. Hand signed Constantini S. It came from an important estate in the Palm Beach area. Made in Murano, handmade according to the ancient Murano glass tradition. Master Sergio Costantini was born in Venice in 1956 and learned the technique of glass processing from the famous Master Glassmakers of Murano A. Barbini, Licio Zanetti, L. Mellara. His works are exhibited globally in the most important museums and art galleries. Venetian glass (Italian: vetro veneziano) is thought to have been made for over 1,500 years, and production has been concentrated on the Venetian island of Murano since the 13th century. Murano glassmakers created cristallo—which was almost transparent and considered the finest glass in the world. Murano glassmakers also developed a white-colored glass (milk glass called lattimo) that looked like porcelain. They later became Europe's finest makers of mirrors. Murano glassmaking began a revival in the 1920s. Today, Murano and Venice are tourist attractions, and Murano is home to numerous glass factories and a few individual artists' studios. Its Museo del Vetro (Glass Museum) in the Palazzo Giustinian contains displays on the history of glassmaking as well as glass sculpture samples ranging from Egyptian times through the present day. The Venetian glassmakers of Murano are known for many innovations and refinements to glassmaking. Among them are Murano beads, cristallo, lattimo, chandeliers, and mirrors. Additional refinements or creations are goldstone, multicolored glass (millefiori), and imitation gemstones made of glass. Aventurine glass, also known as goldstone glass, is translucent brownish with metallic (copper) specks. Calcedonio is a marbled glass that looked like the semi precious stone chalcedony. This type of glass was created during the 1400s by Angelo Barovier, who is considered Murano's greatest glassmaker. Ercole Barovier, a descendant of Murano's greatest glassmaker Angelo Barovier, won numerous awards during the 1940s and 1950s for his innovations using the murrine technique. Sommerso is a form of artistic Murano glass that has layers of contrasting colors (typically two), which are formed by dipping colored glass into another molten glass and then blowing the combination into a desired shape. The outermost layer, or casing, is often clear. Sommerso was developed in Murano during the late 1930s. Flavio Poli was known for using this technique, and it was made popular by Seguso Vetri d'Arte and the Mandruzzato family in the 1950s. This process is a popular technique for vases, and is sometimes used for sculptures. Some of Venice's historical glass factories in Murano remain well known brands today, including De Biasi...

With the exception of the dark metallic one they are transparent and opaque glass. I have shot the photos on a dark background so you can better see the images. they are signed in ink, dated and numbered from the edition of 25. I am selling them individually. the box from Vincent Fremont Multiples is not included. Suzan Etkin's passionate involvement with glass began in 1993, when she was invited to design sculptural chandeliers for gallery exhibitions with Giorgio Giuman and master glass blowers in Murano, Italy.
