Raimond Louis Vincent LECOURT was born in Le Havre on January 25, 1882. At a very young age he entered the School of Fine Arts in Le Havre under the direction of Charles Lhuillier. His comrades were Henri and René de St Delis, Othon Friez, Raoul Dufy, Copieux, Braque. At 17 he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, in the studio of Léon Bonnat, of which he was a student. On the death of the latter, he worked with Luc Olivier Merson. In 1907 he settled near Le Havre in Fontaine-La-Mallet, which he only left for study trips to Normandy, Brittany, Auvergne, the Pyrenees and the Alps. He is a member of French artists.
