Sacred Abstraction On Carved 3D Wood Panel

By Krzysztof Sokolovski

Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL

Sacred Abstraction, Royal blue, red and gold leaf on carved wood pane, signed on the back. Krzysztof (Chris) Sokolovski born in 1985 in Eisiskes in Lithuania. Visual artist creating neosacral art: paintings, luminous objects, installations, and monumental painting. He is a creator of the concept of neosacral art. Since 2003 he lives and creates in Poland. He graduated from Gdansk University of Technology (Faculty of Power Engineering) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Faculty of Painting). Also, the artist took a course in clinical anatomy at the Medical University of Gdansk. Sokolovski has created neosacral chapels in Klebark Wielki (Poland) and in Salesian Sisters Convent in Jerusalem. Concept: Sokolowski wants to create modern sacral art founded on visual tradition and theologies of many cultures. “I think that abstract codification of faith is the prospective and only way to save serious attitude to contemporary human’s spirituality. It is fundamental for responsible usage of developing knowledge about the empirical world and for forming sensibility, which should be adequate to it. In my opinion, the progress of civilization cannot be holistic if it is mostly based on scientific and technological development – metaphysical sensitivity is necessary too. Empirical knowledge is confinement if we use it only for improving conveniences and gaining more knowledge. It is not enough for the evolution of mind, which should advance along with changes in our environment.” Individual Exhibition 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Saris Museum, Bardejov, Slovakia 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Lublin, Poland 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Gallery “Camaldolese Cellar”, Church in Bielany Forest, Warsaw, Poland 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Museum of Mińsk Mazowiecki, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, Zielona 13 Gallery, Łódź, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, the University of Warsaw Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, Bohema Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Philosophy of Religion Department, University of Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Gallery of Association “Polish Community”, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Exhibition-Conferential Centre, Białystok, Poland Selected group exhibition 2017 – “Deification of Body”, Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, Ukraine 2017 – “Sokolovski / Wąsowski / Jędrzejko / Mazuś”, Bohema Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “1st Pomeranian Biennial of Young Art”, Sopot, Poland 2016 – “Shape of Spirit”, Gallery of Mathematics and Computer Science Department, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland 2016 – “Diverted Reality”, Evelyn E. Memorial, yahrzeit candle, gold leaf, trees

By Audrey Anastasi

Located in Brooklyn, NY

This small-scale, slightly textured, intimate painting could be a Hanukkah or Christmas gift. The 12”x 12” canvas has “gallery wrapped” edges. The edges are also “loosely” painted with a touch of surface paint appearing. The work is pre-wired. It can be hung as is, or it could be framed for a more polished presentation. The gold has a reflective quality changing with the light and angle of viewing, which adds to the spiritual character of the subject. ______________________ Audrey Frank Anastasi is a prolific a visual artist, curator, gallerist, educator, philanthropist, and arts advocate. She works primarily in 2-dimensional mediums: painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, focusing on the human subject. Most of Ms. Anastasi's figurative works are painted with her non-dominant left hand. She has created large bodies of works of birds, animals and birch trees. She has exhibited in over 20 solo & 200 group shows. Her original “ref-u-gee” series of forced-migration–themed artwork was shown in a solo exhibition from October, 2022 through January, 2023 at the Brooklyn College library gallery in collaboration with the Valentine Museum of Art (VMoA.) Accompanying the show, a limited-edition monograph with over 180 images of passport sized paintings, four 8 foot tall works on panels, and a foreword by Phyllis Braff. The book was printed in 2023 by SIZ Industria Grafica, Verona, Italy. Additional book and catalog publications include "Stations of the Cross", SPQR press, with an essay by Amir Bey, BREUCKELEN magazine, “Audrey Frank Anastasi” catalog with an essay by renowned feminist art critic Cindy Nemser, and "Collage" with an essay by Giancarlo T. Roma. Born in a predominantly Jewish suburb of Baltimore, Maryland, Audrey was always drawn to art. Her parents had an innate sense of style. Her father's side of the family were immigrant merchants. They owned what was called, in those days, a junior department store. Audrey’s father would arrange creative window displays. And he was a snappy dresser, looking surprisingly elegant in his patterned or pastel sports jackets. Audrey’s mother, on the other hand, came from a more rural upbringing. Although her maternal grandmother was from Eastern Europe, her maternal grandfather was born in the USA. “Mr. Jew Arthur,” as he was referred to by locals, owned a tavern in a predominantly African-American community, Fairfield, Maryland. Not only did he sell spirits, he definitely partook of them, as well. While still a teenager, Audrey’s mother, Rose Gussie, changed her name to Joyce and headed to Atlanta, Georgia, and later to New York City to be a cosmetician and hosiery model. She also had an impeccable sense of style. And in her picture albums, beside the photographs, were pages upon pages of charming ink drawings of stylish ladies. Of her own formative years, Audrey expresses, “I'm forever grateful that when I was a child, my mother indulged me with regular outings to the library where I emerged with armloads of books, and weekly visits to the Baltimore Museum of Art. There I would pass the gorgeous bust of Queen Nefertiti and the scary mummies on the way to my art lessons. There isn't a single moment of my conscious life when I didn't think of myself as an artist.” Audrey also studied with a local artist, “Miss Mary,” who soon asked Audrey to become a teaching assistant, instructing other students how to observe shapes and tonalities, while faithfully drawing charcoal drawings of classical plaster casts...

Gold Abstract Art, Gold Leaf Painting, Modern Art-The Space Between Pair ABOUT THIS PIECE: “The Space Between Pair” is a piece of letter art inspired by graffiti by Addison Jones featuring her unique text previously featured in her portrait art collection. Addison previously utilized text to create texture and depth in her portraits. After realizing the impact of her text, she decided to feature them singularly in a new collection titled ALL CAPS. This painting is all done using gold leaf and hand etching into it. “I am someone that needs structure to create. The fundamental structure of the paintings have always started with a portrait. Next, I would add text to created depth. through the response of my clients, I started noticing how impactful the text was on my pieces. This evolved into this graphic, raw, style of art. When thinking about the material I wanted something modern and organic to create a nice juxtaposition.” D I M E N S I O N S: H 36 in x W 24 in x D 1 in F R A M I N G : We offer a full framing service at an additional cost. ARTIST BIO : Addison Jones is a world class photographer and mixed media artist based out of the Midwest. Jones uses her street art and mixed media style to portray models from her own modern portrait photography. The result culminates in moody, sensual, and contemplative mixed media art focusing on the humanity of the subject. Each of her pieces are original works. Addison is known for layering her own photographs into complex street art and using the written word as a subtle texture feature. She utilizes silver and gold leaf, acrylics, and custom paints, including color changing, to add layers upon layers as she goes. In the end culminating in a piece that is viewed as a complex whole. She begins each piece with a photograph from her own portfolio, and then free flows through each element, drawing inspiration as she works. She often says that her style often leads to mistakes, that later become some of the best parts of the piece. She was once quoted, “Most of the time I am like “welp, don’t like the way that looks” and don’t care if I mess up, so then I do something and I like it and then I’m like ” I love this piece,“” as each piece shifts and changes throughout the process. COMMISSION THE ARTIST: Addison is a commissioned artist with experience all over the world. For commissioned pieces she will fly to shoot photography on location and then work with the client on a mixed media art finished product. *Pictured with the Lawrence Peabody High Back Chair...

"Emerald Green Gossamer" Colorful Contemporary Mixed Media Painting on Canvas

By Antoinette Ferwerda

Located in New York, NY

This painting by Antoinette is a stylish and luxurious mixed media on canvas piece depicting abstract geometric shapes with bold use of color and contrast. The dark black ivory background allows for the luminosity of the emerald, light white, and and peach to shine through effortlessly, as the lines and intricate details of the silk paper laid over paint and mixed media add a most interesting texture. The artist hand embellishes gold leaf to add elegant accents. This painting comes housed in a natural oak floater frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 63 x 47 inches Frame measures 64.5 x 48.5inches Antoinette Ferwerda is a renowned Australian artist largely recognized for producing a bold collection of fine artwork that joyfully explores the geometry of shape and the changing light from dusk to dawn. Championing her love for shape, reflection, and nature using a diverse pallet of mixed media to portray her abstract interpretations of nature. Antoinette's diverse past and a childhood that was somewhat nomadic has inspired much of her work today. Antoinette’s backstory reads like something out of an adventure series, having spent her early days living in remote pockets of Papua New Guinea, where she was lucky to spend time in a seaside shack on Ela Beach in Port Moresby, as well as the volcanic town of Rabaul, the Cargo Port Lae, before moving on to Darwin where her Dad worked for the Red Cross and helped with the re-build process after Cyclone Tracy. This was followed by a family stint in Europe, visiting Netherlands, London, Belgium, France, Italy, and Switzerland, before finally settling back in Melbourne for her formative years. Her love for nature and exploring the patterns and relationships she finds within started early. “I’ve been forever fascinated with color and the magical interplay of light”. “Blessed to have a teacher Mum who fostered regular creative time during our nomadic stint, my childhood was largely spent creating, especially outdoors”. Never without a pen, sketchbook or scraps of paper, her natural ability to create in layers instinctively started in these early years. Although her work continues to evolve, she consistently creates works that are rich in layers, resulting in pieces that are optimistic, luminous and full of stories from her colorful life. Her signature work is abundant with color and texture, resulting in a transparent quality of her works. Adaptable to any palette, Antoinette has produced works from a diversity of spectrums and mediums – sun-soaked, muted and ethereal, vibrant, as well as monochromatic with accents of gold. Her themes include abstract and metaphysical interpretations of fossicking in rock pools, exploring the rolling hills of the countryside both here and abroad, the rock formations of the Australian outback and the magical light of a European summer to name just a few. Her dream and longing to become an artist became a reality after starting her own family and farewelling a corporate life in the pharmaceutical industry, with her debut solo exhibition in 2014. Six years on, Antoinette has fast become a firm favorite amongst interior designers, stylists and home decorators alike, having been represented by fenton&fenton, Thom Gallery and Trit House (formally Click On Furniture) to name just a few. Continually experimenting and evolving as an artist, Antoinette invites the viewer to look deeper through surface layers to find hidden stories of color and form. Past collections have been inspired by visits to the bustling markets of India, the morning light outside her childhood beach shack...
